Is the GTA fandom once again clowning itself?

But hype makes you do questionable things.

As for this teaser, initially you’d be forgiven for believing it nothing more than aGTA: Vice Cityeaster egg, as plenty of fans have already suggested.
In the image, you’ll notice a golden statue, similar in appearance to the gold and green ones that we used to search for inVice City.
ConsideringVice CityandGTA VIare based upon Miami, and thus, we assume, in the same universe, such a discovery could be hinting at similar statues appearing across theGTA VImap.
It’s certainly a stretch, but it isn’t un unreasonable one to make.

The fact thatRockstar Gamesis choosing to further highlightVice Citywhen the new game is due to launch next year feels significant.
The fans agree, though they’re divided on its meaning.

It’s now been a year since the firstGTA VItrailer was released, and still we’re waiting on that second one.
Consequently, it’s unsurprising that fans are homing in on details like this and making assumptions.
This could just be Rockstar’s way of keeping the love for its older titles alive, however, that doesn’t quite sit right with the majority of fans.

Hopefully, the reasoning behind this teaser, and what it ultimately references, will be revealed in the not-too-distant future.
