Unfortunately, millions ofgamers may miss out onGTA VIunless they upgrade to a modern console. However, concerns have been raised for those who may choose to playGTA VIon theXbox Series S. Don’t get me wrong, the Series S is a fantastic little console, but compared to theXbox Series Xand PS5, it doesn’t quite hold up. Recently we’ve already seen the likes ofBaldur’s Gate 3being delayed on Xbox due to the technical restraints of the Series S. Thankfully that elusive Xbox Series X|SBaldur’s Gate 3release dateis finally nigh.

That being said,GTA VIwill very likely be a different beast to the impressiveBaldur’s Gate 3and some gamers are concerned that the Xbox Series S won’t be able to run the highly anticipated title from Rockstar Games to an acceptable level.
“I wonder howGTA VIwill run on Series S,”askedRedditor SeaMachine649. “As we saw in the trailer, the graphical fidelity is incredible.Alan Wake IIshows that massive downgrades are needed to run at 30fps [on Series S]. I’m kind of worried thatGTAVIwill be unstable on release. I don’t care about low resolutions as long as it’s a stable 30fps.”

“Rockstar Games doesn’t have a choice but to make it work,” claimed an optimistic Capital-Can4210. “I’m willing to bet it’ll look fine, but it’ll magnify the power gap between the Series S|X and PS5 significantly.”
“It’ll work like how AAA Nintendo Switch games work. Don’t expect the fidelity in the faces and eyes, ray tracing etc,” claimed Winniethepoohspooh. “Expect the Xbox Series S version ofGTA VIto be more in line withGTA Von Series S with no bells and whistles.”
Hopefully, regardless of the platform of choice, everyone can enjoyGrand Theft Auto VIwhen it is released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.
