Rockstar Games has a little bad news for those players still gaming away on the last generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Players are understandably upset that support is ending afterRockstarannounced that they will no longer support the Rockstar Editor. This essentially means that players on older consoles will not be able to keep up with the newer features ofGTA Online. If you fall into this category, don’t fret, the game will continue to operate.
GTA Online constantly receives updates introducing new missions
Announcing the changes on their blog, Rockstar commented, “As we begin to approach the limits of what’s possible within the technical capacity of previous-generation consoles, we are taking necessary steps to allow for futureGTA Onlineupdates onPlayStation 4and Xbox One.” It’s not a great surprise, we’re now a few years into the current generation of consoles and some changes must be made to stop splitting development teams across titles.
Rockstar continued, “As part of these changes, the Rockstar Editor (including any Clips or Projects saved in the Rockstar Editor) will no longer be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as of February 20, 2024. This update will help to ensure the stability of these platforms and keep them updated withGTA Onlineadditions for as long as possible."

It’s an interesting option to change given that so many users took advantage of it, but Rockstar could very well have more reasons in their pocket.
