
Without question, the Halo series is one of, if not the biggest franchise for Microsoft and its Xbox brand since its inception in 2001.
While the first game in the series,Halo: Combat Evolvedwasn’t the original first-person shooter on consoles, it was certainly one of the most revolutionary. BeforeHalo: Combat Evolved, the FPS experience on consoles was clunky and awkward but somehow, the talented folks atBungiemanaged to make its FPS feel as close to the PC’s keyboard and mouse while using a control pad.

Then in 2004, we were treated toHalo 2, which looked to improve on its predecessor in almost every way. For the most part, it did, though I remember at the time many gamers being unhappy that the campaign was split between the Master Chief and an Arbiter named Thel ‘Vadamee, who joined forces to fight against the Covenant and the alien parasite species, the Flood.

In 2014, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the sequel,Halo 2: Anniversarywas released which remastered the game with updated visuals and performance.Halo 2: Anniversarywas released as part of theHalo: The Master Chief Collectionfor Xbox One, which later arrived on PC.
As is the tradition for the series, Halo is primarily played in a first-person perspective other than spin-offs such asHalo WarsandHalo: Spartan Assault. But if you wanted to play the likes ofHalo 2: Anniversaryin a third-person perspective, today is your lucky day, spartan.

Unfortunately for Xbox gamers, thisHalo 2: Anniversaryfirst-person mod is only available for the PC version of the game.Halo 2: Anniversaryis out now on PC and Xbox One, it’s also backwards compatible with Xbox Series X/S.
