Now this E3 Demo is sort of infamous for promising a lot of things that didn’t make it into the final game, with many pointing fun at the demo’s voiceover that states there are “no smoke and mirrors” in play, very ironic.

Regardless, it was an impressive glimpse into whatHalo 2was, at the time, going to be before it ran into some development issues, and players will be able to experience it for themselves next month.

343 Industries and the modding team Digsite are collaborating once again to make it happen, and will make the demo readily available through the Steam workshop.

UnfortunatelyXboxfans willnotbe able to join in on the fun, as at the time of writing there’s no mod compatibility with the Microsoft consoles.

If you have aSteamDeck though that might be a decent alternative to a high-end PC,The Master Chief Collectionis verified on Steam Deck and mods can work provided they’re set up right.

Combine that with one of the docks that let you play on a TV or monitor plus an Xbox controller and you’d have a great set-up for the demo next month.

Halo: The Master Chief Collectioncontinues to impress, a miracle when you remember how awful it was at launch.
