Halo fans have reason to believe the franchise’s co-creator Marcus Lehto is returning to work on the next game.
WhileHalo: Infinitewas a step in the right direction for theHaloseries, it unfortunately stillhasn’t brought the franchise backto what it once was, which could change with the next game.

Somewhat coincidentally, Halo’s co-creator Marcus Lehto recently tweeted something that has fans wondering if he’s returning to the fray.
Last week Lehtosaid: “Really love being back in Unreal Engine after about 3 years. Dusting off my skills and acclimating to all the new awesome stuff in UE5. So good.”
Before this Lehto was reportedly toying with the idea of retirement, though it seems plans have changed.

Of course if the rumours about the next Halo game are true and it does indeed useUnreal Engine5, then there’s certainly a possibility Lehto is joining the team at 343 Industries to help craft the next sci-fi adventure.
It wouldn’t be the first time either, as Halo’s best writer, Joseph Staten, returned to the series to work on Halo: Infinite, and while he did eventually leave Microsoft entirely to work on Netflix games his impact seemingly did a world of good for the game.
The next Halo game is still unconfirmed, but as Xbox’s biggest IP it’s basically inevitable, that being said whether it’s a true sequel or a complete reboot is anyone’s guess.
