Halo just got a massive new release you can download now

The next Halo game is probably years away at this point, so why not revisit some of the classics in a whole new way with this Halo 2 overhaul?

You can play Halo 2 (both the original and remaster) via the Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Now though you can play a version ofHalo 2onSteamcalledHalo 2: Uncut, found in the Steam Workshop, and it might as well be a different game entirely.

It basically restoresallof the cut-content and integrates it into the game in a way that doesn’t feel intrusive or out of place. It’d be an understatement to say a lot of effort has gone into the overhaul, and it’s paid off because fans are loving every minute of it.

The mod includes levels and areas typically inaccessible in the official port of the game, removed weapons, changes to existing weapons to make them behave the same as they did in theHalo 2beta, and much much more.

It’s a complete rework and one that’s well-worth playing if you primarily play on PC, as at the time of writing mod support isn’t available for the Xbox version of the game.
