Harry Potter fan unearths dark theory explaining Voldemort’s physical return

Despite being initially perceived as a children’s novel, the Harry Potter series evolved with its audience as they grew older with some mature themes being later implemented such as the rebirth of one of the most iconic villains in all of entertainment, Lord Voldemort.

In total, there are sevenHarry Potternovels and eight movies withHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowsbeing split into two parts for the cinematic finale. However, the topic of today’s discussion is the fourthmovie/novel,Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which sees the sinister Lord Voldemort regain his human form and start his new reign of tyranny.

However, ReddituserJMueller2012 has a convincing theory (thanks, Looper) about why Voldemort first appears this way before assuming a more average human body later in the film.

“This is pretty dark but the tentative body that Voldemort had inGoblet of Fire(the infant-like one) was him possessing a dead child from the graveyard,” they explained. “There’s a really dark theory that Bertha Jorkins was pregnant and that he possessed the foetus to use as a body after he murdered her and Wormtail extracted it.”
