Although there are already eight Harry Potter movies in the franchise, fans are still crying out for more, so hearing that that could have been the case is enough to cause quite a bit of devastation.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fireis the fourthmoviein the series and is oftentimes considered as the weakest due to its obvious story telling, the cutting of important scenes and Dumbledore being on the verge of a heart attack all the way through.

However, it has been reported thatHarry Potterand the Goblet of Firewas almost split into a two-part movie. According to screenwriter Steve Kloves, the team “briefly considered doingGoblet of Fireas two films”.
However, they ultimately decided against it due to the challenges it would present.
Nevertheless, fans are unhappy to learn that this could have been the case and took to r/harrypotter to share their frustrations.
“Newell was a bad director, splitting the movie in two couldn’t have saved it,” said one. “He wanted the dragon scene for the first task to be extended and have the dragon burn down the forest.”

Anothersaid, “Yes. I think all of them (four onward) should’ve been two movies (but released as double features, none of that waiting for the second part s**t) OR just some LOTR style and made them extra long movies. The movies (four onward) were massive disappointments to me growing up because they leave out so much that if you didn’t read the books you actually might not accurately understand the story.”
It seems any possible challenges had been dealt with ahead of the release ofHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowswhich was split into two-parts. However, it would have been nice to see this done for previous entries too.
