Lucius Malfoy is a nasty fellow.
I, like everybody else, have been listening to theWickedsoundtrack on repeat and I’m reminded of that line in ‘No One Mourns The Wicked’: “Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?”
With Draco Malfoy, I’m firmly of the belief that it’s the latter. Lucius, however, certainly falls into that former camp.

He’s a eugenicist, dead set on creating a “pureblood” wizarding race.
There are seemingly no redeeming qualities in this evil and cruel individual, which may lead you to wonder what punishment awaited him after the conclusion ofThe Death Hallows.

Let’s just say that the answer may enrage you.
ICYMI:Harry Potter: Quidditch Championsis out now.
You see, Lucius somehow got off quite lightly which is a fact that astounds me.

Yes, his loyalties begin to shift near the end of the war, but that’s a tad convenient and doesn’t exactly make up for all of his committed crimes.
You’re perhaps expecting me to say that Lucius was returned to Azkaban but he was actually pardoned for his crimes.
Believe it or not, Lucius simply got off with a slap on the wrist which I’d say feels like a pretty major case of wizarding injustice.
“Lucius […] was just a piece of s**t and should have been held accountable for the role he played in the war,”declaredReddit user Propaslader. “The things he did prior to Voldemort’s return were damning enough, but then he continued well afterwards as well.”

ChrisAus123spelt it outperfectly: “He should have been punished for his involvement before Harry was born. Then another life sentence for giving Ginny a diary that unleashed a Basilisk on school children. Then again for threatening the school board members. Then again for attempted murder on Harry. Then again for breaking into the ministry and attacking children. Then again for his involvement in the second wizarding war.”
“He should have been made to work in the kitchens at Hogwarts with all of the house elves for the remainder of his life,” Dismal_Report_4568suggested, although I’m only on board with that if he simultaneously has to be kind to them.
You have to wonder how many other Death Eaters got away with their many crimes.
