Earlier in the year,an announcementderailed any excitement felt for the sequel; so much so that a petition is now active to try to prevent the IP changing too dramatically.
When Warner Bros commented on introducing live service into more of its games, players started to panic.

Consequently, they’ve taken it upon themselves to try and stop live service from ruining the popularHarry Potteradventure.

Assharedon Reddit, a Charge.org petition is live because “people don’t want a live service [game] filled with microtransactions and a forced grind as a part of the magic”.
Unlike previous games related petitions we’ve seen, this one has a modest first goal: 7,500 signatures. So far, it’s gathered 6,395 (at the time of writing this).
We should add that the petition has been live since March; seemingly, while the fandom isn’t pleased about the idea of live service, it isn’t in a rush to protest about it either.
Perhaps this is why the speculation of an autumn update hasn’t thrilled players as much as expected…?

Oh yes, while the summer DLC is on fans’ lips, there’s talk of a“fall update” coming, which would be a welcome surprise indeed.
The future ofHogwarts Legacyfeels uncertain despite its popularity. The summer DLC may rescue it for now, however, it’s only a short-term solution to a game lacking content and direction.
