UnlikeHogwarts Legacy, which is set 100 years before the events of the mainHarry Potterseries,Magic Awakenedtakes place 10 years after the Battle of Hogwarts as seen inThe Deathly Hallows, so expected to see plenty of familiar faces. Just not Fred Weasley.
Magic Awakenedsees players will take on the role of a first year student, which you can customise to be completely unique.
“Your journey to master the magic starts here! You are invited to attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” the game’s official synopsis reads. “Duel in thrilling multiplayer, real-time matches. Browse the dazzling shops of Diagon Alley, solve mysteries as you roam the school halls, show off your moves at the Dance Club, explore the Forbidden Forest, and more in this new card collection and role-playing game!”
The game is largely winning theapproval of Potter fans, who praise the game’s story and depth but warn of its gacha mechanics. This is a free-to-play mobile game based on a hit franchise, of course, so anyone going in expecting zero microtransactions probably banged their head on something.
