It is safe to say thatHogwarts Legacywas a success when it became the best-selling video game of 2023.

Now almost two years on and talk has turned to a possible sequel.

However, with rumours thatHogwarts Legacy2could be a live-service title, a genre that is infamously unsuccessful, fans are left feeling divided about the future of the Avalanche Software series.

“How would you guys feel if they basically just used the same map as the first game?”askedone user over on r/HarryPotterGame.

“TBH I would actually like it because it would likely cut down on production time and also, what is there to even change? Let me know your thoughts," they continued.

It wasn’t long before fans started to flood in with their thoughts and the results were quite divisive.

“I’d like the same map but maybe a few new locations to explore like Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, and a bit of London,” one player added.

“We were in Gringotts and London in the beginning of the game, having some of that expanded on I think would be cool and would lead to a possible introduction to the ministry in the 1890’s.”

Another said, “Just make a game using the same map where you are actually a student going through all of the years. No need for some crazy story outside of it. Bring us in as first years and let us graduate at the end. That’s literally the game everyone wants."

With some players wanting to keep it simple whilst others have bigger wishes, it remains to be seen whatHogwarts Legacy 2will deliver.

However, it may be a few years until we see it anyway.
