Hogwarts Legacy meets The Sims in your next gaming obsession

If you’re aHogwarts Legacyfan looking for a new fix, or a lapsed Harry Potter fan who wants to engage in a bit of magical fun without the moral and ethical complications of supporting JK Rowling, I may have just the game for you.

InWizdom Academyyou take on the role of headmaster. After building your initial school (which can be expanded at any time with the proper resources) you set about filling it with students and teachers, all with the aim of building the next generation of magical talent.

You will, of course, need to manage the wants and needs of these unique characters, as well as keep an eye on the school’s mana - a precious resource that functions a lot like electricity, giving power to certain chambers within your school.

Another fun wrinkle is the existence of giant monsters that wander the world outside your school and are constantly hungry for mana. On top of running an establishment of higher learning, youalsohave to make sure these colossi don’t get a whiff of your power, or they’ll come lumbering over for a snack. That means you need to set up various distractions around the perimeter and basically do whatever you can to keep them off the scent.

After seeing it in action for myself at GDC,Wizdom Academycertainly looks like it’ll scratch an itch for Harry Potter fans after something a little more tactical, and it’s worth noting there’ll be more casual gameplay options for those after a less hardcore experience. The game is currently listed as coming soon onSteam, so expect news any day now.
