Hogwarts Legacyis a game full of mystery and wonder, but would you really expect anything less in the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?
InHogwarts Legacy, you play as a student for reasons unknown (at least at the very start of the game), beginning your academic life at the school during the fifth year to the surprise of your fellow students and tutors alike.

Amongst all the locations that fans would like to visit in the Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding areas is the Chamber of Secrets, the home of a deadly and ancient beast known as a Basilisk, a giant serpent that loves nothing more than to gobble up muggle-born students. The Basilisk existed to eradicate muggle-born students from the castle and only a Slytherin heir could enter the Chamber. One such heir is the infamous Tom Marvolo Riddle aka the Dark Lord Voldemort.

YouTuber ESO hasexplored the theoryofwhat ifyou could open the entrance in the game and it seems there might be a way. Being set in the 1890s, long before Tom Riddle,Hogwarts Legacyhas an heir of its own, none other than Slytherin House student, Ominous Gaunt.
The Basilisk was born sometime during the 10th and 11th centuries, so it should technically exist withinHogwarts Legacy. It’s also worth keeping in mind that a player back in February 2023, believed that theymay have caught a glimpse of the ancient serpentin the Slytherin Common Room.
Just like Tom Riddle andHarry Potter, Ominous Gaunt has the ability to speak parseltongue, and as such can not only speak to snakes, but in theory, he should also be able to speak to the Basilisk. So it’s been speculated that Ominous Gaunt could be the key to entering the Chamber inHogwarts Legacy.

At the time of writing, the Chamber of Secrets is not enterable inHogwarts Legacy, but when you consider that its entrance seemingly exists in the lavatory, Ominous Gaunt can speak parseltongue, and some players may have spotted the Basilisk slithering through the halls of Hogwarts, maybe, just maybe, the Chamber of Secrets may feature in upcoming DLC or even a sequel. Only time will tell.
