Hogwarts Legacy: Spellmaster is the fan expansion fans long for

Hogwarts Legacyis a pretty good game. Some would even argue it’s a great game! But as we get further from the release and that initial rush of hype, it’s increasingly clear fans expected and wanted more.

To be fair toHogwarts Legacy, there was way too much expectation surrounding it. The fact that it managed to live up to fans' lofty hype at all instead of instantly crashing and burning is a testament to Avalanche Software’s hard work.

That’s whereHogwarts Legacy: Spellmastercomes in. This is a wonderfulfan-made gameplay expansionthat adds a bunch of new spells for players to get the hang of, and introduce some fun new elements to combat - an area of the game that otherwise gets increasingly stale the further in you get.

The mod enables the following spells to be utilised in combat: Confundo, Diffindo Maxima, Obliviate, Pestis Incendium, Petrificus Totalus and Stupefy. Once the mod is installed, you’ll be able to equip them like any other spell, with each having their own unique effect on enemies.

Pestis Incendium unleashes a powerful fire attack, while Diffindo Maxima is basically Diffindo with higher range. Stupefy is a new kind of counter-attack, and Obliviate wipes the enemy’s mind. Confundo confuses enemies for a short duration and finally, Petrificus Totalus functions just as it does in stealth.

WhileHogwarts Legacymight not have any official expansions, fans have been having a great time extending the game’s life. Fromrideable dragon mounts,a wanted-systemsimilar toRockstar’sGrand Theft Autogames, and even theSword of Gryffindor as a weapon, there’s been plenty to see and do. Basically, modders will be keeping this game alive while we wait forHogwarts Legacy 2. Ain’t that always the way?
