Hogwarts Legacy studio has just been acquired by a major publisher

That’s right,Hogwarts Legacyfans: a big publisher has purchased the studio that worked on the beloved Harry Potter title.

In truth though, such a decision makes sense; Shiver Entertainment worked on the Switch port forHogwarts Legacy,and as such, Nintendo likely wants it to work on Switch 2 ports in the future.

“Going forward, even after it becomes a part of the Nintendo group, Shiver’s focus will remain the same, continuing commissions that port and develop software for multiple platforms includingNintendo Switch.”

It’s the “multiple platforms” bit that has fans most curious.

Speculation is now rife that there could bePCports on the horizon for some Nintendo games; if true, this would be massive news.

But would it be surprising? After all, Xbox is full steam ahead with plans to launchThe Elder Scrolls VIon PlayStation, thus further cementing its commitment to removing first-party titles.

Of course, Nintendo could simply not want to refer to the Switch 2 due to the way fans immediately get overhyped about it.

We know the new console is on the way after Nintendo, true to form,announced the Switch 2in the most casual way. However, the exact date for launch is unknown.

Consequently, minimising all mentions of the new hardware isn’t such an unusual move.

Regardless of what the plans are now this acquisition is confirmed and underway, for the rarest moment, fans agree that it can only spell great things for Nintendo and Shiver Entertainment.
