House of the Dragon star cast as DCU’s Supergirl

Overnight saw the news break of which lucky actor would be taking on the role of Supergirl herself in the upcomingSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowmovie - andHouse of the Dragonfans are in for a treat.

Despite it being a new year, it does not seem as though the superhero genre is anywhere near slowing down. WithMarvel’sThunderboltsarriving in 2025, DC is not straying far behind with the news thatSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowwould be getting an adaptation. Not only that but we now know who will be taking on the main role.

Monday night sawDCstudios boss James Gunn confirm thatHouse of the Dragonstar Milly Alcock will be taking on the role of Kara Zor-El AKA Supergirl. The Australian actress has had a number of small roles but is most known for playing a young Rhaenyra Targaryen in theGame of Thronesspin-off show.

Not only that but Alcock also took the time to reveal the news to her fans via Instagram. “So excited to be a part of the DC fam - thank you so much to James Gunn for trusting me with Kara / Supergirl,” she wrote, alongside art of Supergirl herself.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis yet to receive a release date but with such a talented actress at the helm, it will definitely be one to stay up to date on.
