Commercial and critical response to the game was overwhelmingly positive, leading many to assume sequels were on the way, which was supposedly the case before it eventually faced cancellation. It’s unknown what the sequel would have been like, and whether it would have stuck with the Greek mythology theme or explored other cultures.
The decision to cancel the sequel toImmortalsreportedly comes from Ubisoft’s plans to focus on theAssassin’s Creedseries, which hasseveral projectsplanned for release over the next few years, including the upcomingAssassin’s Creed Mirage.

It’s a disappointment to say the least, as there was a lot of potential for Immortals to become a flagship franchise for Ubisoft going forward, potentially rivalling the success of the Assassin’s Creed series.
That being said, one should never say never, as a sequel could remerge at some point in the future, hopefully with a new twist to capture the attention ofFenyx Risingfans and new audiences alike.
