Jonathan Majors dropped by Marvel, facing up to one year in prison

Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of harassment and assault, and is now facing up to a year in prison.

Early this year, the 34-year-old was arrested following a conflict with Grace Jabbari, his girlfriend at the time. It’s believed Jabbari saw suspicious texts on Majors’ phone, and when attempting to take the device the actor twisted her arm and struck her on the head.

After a lengthy trial, Majors was convicted yesterday and is now being faced with charges of third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated assault.

The film and TV star will now be dropped from any ongoing or future roles, themost notable of which being Kang The Conquerorin the currentMarvelCinematic Universe. Kang is the current iteration of the MCU’s big-bad, already appearing in both seasons of theDisney+ showLoki, as well asAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for Marvel fans, many of whom wereworried Majors would be axedfrom future projects and what that would mean for the wider story the MCU is currently setting up.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, as well as one of the upcoming Avengers films being calledAvengers: The Kang Dynasty, it’s safe to say Kang was supposed to be the main focus for future films, shows, and post-credit scenes.

Marvel is yet to officially comment on the charges against Majors at the time of writing, though an official statement on how it’ll affect future projects will likely be released soon.
