
It’s been a while since we’ve been treated to a Just Cause game and while we have no idea as to when a new game in the series might be released, there is some good news to bring, at least.
The last game to be released in theSquare Enixopen-world action series wasJust Cause 4in 2018 forPC,PlayStation4 andXboxOne. So it’s understandable that some fans might be itching for a new entry, especially as they’ve been waiting ever since anew Just Cause gamewas teased in 2022.

While we wait to hear news from Square Enix of whenJust Cause 5may arrive, Avalanche Studios Group, the team responsible for not only the Just Cause series but alsoMad Max(2015) have formed together to work on a new “cutting-edge AAA open-world game.”
The job listing is for a production director to work full-time at the Avalanche Studios Group HQ in Stockholm, Sweden with “flexible remote working arrangements”. As the production director, you will be required to work “closely with our top team of producers to ensure the creative vision of the game is achieved.”
Not much else was revealed, at least in terms of gameplay details or a release date onContraband, but we do know that it will be an Xbox Game Studios exclusive. “Welcome toContraband, a co-op smuggler’s paradise set in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan,” reads the brief description of the upcoming game.

Contrabandwill be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S. What’s more, as an exclusive title on the green brand, it will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost.
