Lara Croft’s new look in Call Of Duty is actually amazing

Watch out, Nicki, there’s a newcomer on the way and she’s got a fandom that’s been around since the 1990s. That’s right, we’re talking about Lara Croft and her joining Call of Duty; the first look at her in-game model has dropped and, wow, Croft is killing it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIhas never been as interesting as it is right now (don’t come for me, you know I’m right); from Nicki Minaj to Snoop Dogg, there’s been a lot of amazing Operators introduced to the game. WhenMinaj officially joinedand stepped onto the backs of our enemies, life felt about as surreal as it could get. But now Lara Croft is back, and instead of looking similar to what we saw inFortnite, she’s photorealistic picture-perfect.

The Lara ready to make her grand debut inCoDis more mature than the novice who started out in the Survivor trilogy; she’s battle-worn, yet her skin is unblemished, much like the Croft we remember from the original game. True, her triangular assets are gone, but that iconic green tank top and shorts outfit is back and looks better than ever.

Still, while this in-game model is very much focused on celebrating the Croft many of us remember from earlier titles, there’s a nod to more recent games in the form of Lara’s jade necklace. Seeing the marrying together of the past and the present has some fans wondering whether this new look Lara will be what we’ll see in the nextTomb Raiderinstalment. However, while many are pleased to see what Croft looks like afterthe official announcementwas first made, there are some gamers who are… concerned… about her face.

While there’s much negativity to be found if you dare to view Reddit, I personally think the model looks great. Lara Croft has had so many re-designs and changes, the character is forever evolving to embrace where the franchise wishes to take her next, so I’m down to see how they make her something more than a big-breasted video game character that men used to get naked cheat codes for.

As well as Croft making her way toCoD: Modern Warfare II, the Tomb Raider Bundle will also be available, including special skins, three new weapons, and more. You can see Lara make her debut on 9 September.
