Marvel boss confirms MCU’s next R-rated movie is the one we’ve waited for

Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, has been talking to various outlets on his tour for the upcoming film,Deadpool and Wolverine.

The usually tight-lipped Feige has remained so but has been letting a few details slip on the future of the MCU, particularly on what R-rated film will follow the foul-mouthed adventures ofDeadpool.

Blade has had a bit of a troubled pre-production stage as it has lost both writers and directors over the past two years.

The main star, two-time Oscar winner, Mahershala Ali is stillset to play Bladeand fans were thrilled to hear the vampire hunter would make his return.

When prompted to talk aboutBlade, theMarvelboss teased that the studio wanted to keep the R-rated essence of the character when it comes to production.

Referring to the older Blade films starring Wesley Snipes, Feige commented, “Because there were some great ‘Blade’ movies years ago — they were all R-rated. So I think that’s, like Deadpool, inherent with the character of Blade.”

Bladeis still set to release on 7 November 2025, however, the script has gone through the hands of five writers, so far.

The film has big shoes to fill as many believe that the first two Blade movies are fantastic works of superhero material and hopes were high when Ali was attached to star. Here’s hoping the turbulence backstage abates and we see some movement on the film soon.
