I never thought I’d see the day where I’d be discussing Wolverine’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so I guess all I can say is thank you, Deadpool.
WithDeadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman’s Logan made his official debut in theMCUand given the immense success of the film, I’m hardly imagining this appearance will be his last.
There was a point in time where we all wondered how Ryan Reynolds’ potty-mouthed Deadpool would fit into the family-friendly MCU.

Clearly, there was nothing to worry about.
Deadpool & Wolverineis now the 12th highest grossing movie at the domestic box office, achieving the highest July opening weekend of all-time also at the domestic box office.
It had the highest domestic opening for an MCU film sinceSpider-Man: No Way Homeand the fourth highest superhero opening weekend of all-time - and that’s just to name a few accolades.
As such, I’m imagining both Jackman and Reynolds are in high demand atMarvelwith Reynolds’ Deadpool already frontingDisneyPlus’ latest marketing campaign.

Deadpool & Wolverineis now available to watch on Disney Plus.
The question is though: where will the duo end up next?
Will there be a direct sequel toDeadpool & Wolverine? Will Wolverine play a crucial role in the introduction of the X-Men?

Will the duo play a role in the upcoming Avengers films?
Well, I’m afraid the truth is a tad murky.
It’s suspected that both characters will indeed appear in eitherAvengers: Doomsdayand/orSecret Wars, with leaker DanielRPK teasing a future beyond that.

Of course, Marvel is no longer tying actors down with 10-film-long contracts, but it seems they’ve certainly convinced Jackman to stick around for a good while.
They really took the ‘till he’s 90’ joke and ran with it, prompting some to wonder whether this direction is a simple money grab.
Whatever the popular consensus may be though, this is music to my ears.
