Marvel fans furious as MCU fumbles something we’ve waited years for

We can’t really overstate how much we love the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the vast majority of movies and shows that fall under its banner.

For every stinker (looking at youThor: Love And Thunder) there’s an absolute banger likeGuardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 3, Captain America: Winter Soldier,orAvengers: Infinity War.

Heck, seeingMarveldo all of this with characters many would have considered totally obscure just 20 years ago is nothing short of a miracle.

But when Marvel ended the first huge chapter of its universe, I wasn’t all that concerned. After all, the MCU had proved so successful that Marvel was able to get back many of the popular properties it had originally sold the movie rights to.

Even withoutSpider-Manpermanently in their ranks, Marvel still had Daredevil, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, and even Blade to play around with. How could the future be anything other than gleaming?

And yet, Marvel fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Marvel’s apparent inability to make a Blade movie.

The original Wesley Snipes Blade movies don’t get the credit they deserve for making superhero flicks genuinely cool (and for being rad movies in their own right).

So when Marvel announced it was bringing Blade to the MCU with the incredible Mahershala Ali attached to star, it seemed like we had all the ingredients for an easy banger. The ingredients being Mahershala Ali and slaying vampires.

Most fans seem to agree it really should be that simple, but when Bladeloses its second director five yearsinto a project that still hasn’t started shooting, you have to wonder if Marvel hasn’t fumbled one of the easiest wins of all time.

Another useradded: “I can’t believe of all the Marvel films it’s Blade that is giving them the hardest time to make. A film that was perfectly done almost 30 years ago.”

“Making a movie about a vampire hunter shouldn’t be this hard,” a third agreed.

Will Marvel’s Blade ever actually come out? As a huge fan of both the character and Ali I really hope so. But the fans are running out of patience, and you have to assume Ali is right there with them.
