Marvel fans are hyped at the prospective return of the Mad Titan, more commonly known as Thanos but should we be concerned?
When it comes to a long-story build packed with a rollercoaster of emotions, it doesn’t get much better than theMCU’sInfinity Saga. That saga came to its climatic end withAvengers: Endgamein 2019 during Phase 3.

It might be fair to say that the first three phases of the MCU were so good, that it has practically become an impossible act to follow which is perhaps why themovieshave so far failed to replicate such heights.

Now we’re in the ‘Multiverse Saga’ with Phase 5 coming to an end withThunderboltsin 2025 as tensions crank up for Phase 6 which begins withThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsin 2026.
With some feeling that the MCU has been lacking in recent years, what seemed as a desperate attempt to appease fans, Robert Downey Jr. who played Tony Stark aka Iron Man was brought back, this time as thevillainous Doctor Doom.
Brolin said that if he was to return as Thanos, it would have to be the right fit. “I’m not kidding — there’s a thing with playing Thanos. It’s like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna bring Thanos back.’ It’s like Sicario; it has to be right,” he said.

Brolin continued: “It’s like Ryan Reynolds and I talking about Taylor Swift and we should be talking aboutDeadpool 4. But we go back and forth. Again, it’s what in his mind fits, what in my mind fits. Thanos has to fit if you’re going to bring him back. I would do anything that the Russos wanted me to do.”
I have to agree with what Josh Brolin says. To be honest, I’d rather Thanos didn’t return as his arc ended so well. However, if Marvel and Disney are insistent on it, it would have to make sense and justify the return.
That being said, there is a major moment in 2015’sSecret Warscomics that would play perfectly into the Multiverse Saga and that’s an interaction with God Emperor Doom and Thanos. We’ll just have to wait and see whether that plays out in the MCU.
