With the end of the year rapidly approaching, you’ve likely found yourself looking ahead to what the next 12 months may bring us.
That’s in all aspects of life, but I should hope that if you’re here, it includes video games.
It goes without saying thatGrand Theft Auto VIis 2025’s major headliner, but it’s far from the only headlining release coming next year.

Ghost of Yōtei, Monster Hunter Wilds, Fable,Assassin’s CreedShadows, Atomfall, andCrimson Desertare also on the way, amongst many other exciting titles.
One of those is a game that, for some reason, I keep forgetting about and I don’t know why because it looks positively fantastic.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydraunveiled its first cinematic trailerearlier this yearfollowing a prior announcement, showing us lead characters Captain America and Black Panther in action.
If you’ve also forgotten about this game, don’t be too hard on yourself as it’s been radio silence from developer Skydance New Media since that initial reveal.

But that’s now changed as writer and director Amy Hennig, ofUnchartedfame, has sat down with Entertainment Weekly to shed light on the upcoming release.
Take a look at the impressive trailer forMarvel 1943: Rise of Hydrabelow.
Hennigrevealedthat Paris and Wakanda will be two of the game’s key locations, adding that “there are yet-to-be-revealed locations in between".

“They are non-interventionist, but events transpire that pull them into the conflict. They have to protect their interests. The world is getting smaller. No satellites yet, but there will be soon. You can shoot down planes that maybe want to fly over Wakanda, but how long can you stay in the shadows?”
As such, I’m imagining that Khary Payton’s Azzuri, this era’s Black Panther, is going to face some unique struggles if he wants to protect his homeland.
