
It’s always talk of the town when big news is announced at San Diego Comic-Com especially when it comes to the Marvel universe.
Following theallegations of assaultagainst Jonathan Majors, for which hewas later sentenced, Marvel and Disney not only set plans inmotion to replace the actorbut Kang the Conqueror would also be replaced as the MCU’s big villain following in the footsteps of Thanos.

Recent rumours claimed that Robert Downey Jr. who played Tony Stark aka Iron Man in theMCUwould claim a new role as Victor Von Doom, otherwise known as Doctor Doom in the upcomingFantastic Four: First Steps, a property no longer in the hands of 20th Century Fox.

At San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, those rumours were confirmed to be true with Robert Downey Jr. officially beingannounced as Doctor Doom. Whether this new role will prove to be a success or an act of desperation for the MCU which has come under heavy criticism from fans recently for lacking that magical spark, remains to be seen.
Following the events ofBlood Hunt, Doctor Strange is no longer the Sorcerer Supreme, that honour now belongs to the sinister Doctor Doom.
In the upcoming events ofThe 8 Deaths of Spider-Mancomic book series, Doctor Strange gifts Peter Parker with a magically powered suit and eight lives in the hope that he will be able to conquer the now seriously OP Doctor Doom.

The 8 Deaths of Spider-Manstory is set to begin in issue 61 ofThe Amazing Spider-Manwhich is planned to be released in November this year.
Fantastic Four: First Stepsis currently scheduled to be released in cinemas in July 2025.Avengers: Doomsday(which replacesAvengers: The Kang Dynasty) is scheduled for May 2026.
