Marvel quietly replaced Chris Hemsworth as MCU Thor, and we never noticed

Marvel fans would like to think they can spot deception when they see it, but Marvel’s subtle replacement of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor throws those claims into question.

We’re not to blame for missing this change, though, forMarvelwas as sneaky as can be about it.

During one particular scene inDeadpool & Wolverine, fans believed it was Hemsworth playing Thor.

It makes sense for such assumptions; not only is he the face ofMCU’s Thor, but there are also numerous cameos within the film.

However, it wasn’t Hemsworth at all.

Alongside a caption that reads, “Behind the scenes of the ‘What, was Thor crying?’ sequence inDeadpool & Wolverine”, there’s an image of Ryan Reynolds and an unknown man in motion capture garb.

Minds. Blown.

“I swore it was a Chris cameo!” tweeted user Andre Saint-Albin.

Someone else, although also surprised to learn this news, remarked on what a “great” behind the scenes moment the image captures.

In the film industry, the merits of CGI are often debated, particularly regarding whether it’s got worse over the years rather than better.

We’re not sure it’s quite so flawless to believe the wholeDeadpool & Wolverinefilm was CGI, but some fans wouldn’t put it pastDisney.

“Was the whole movie CGI??” asked one fan, “As soon as Logan’s mask came on, I think Hugh left the set, and I don’t think that was Ryan like 95% of the movie?? The hell did I even watch??”

A fine question, though not one we can answer.

More Marvel revelations keep on coming, this time asfans lose itover the brand finally giving them something they’ve been dreaming of for years.

We can’t help but wonder what other shocks are waiting for us in the near future…
