Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 facing delay or outright ban in certain countries

There’s no doubt thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2is one of this year’s most exciting video games, but its release in a number of countries seems uncertain.

ThePS5-exclusive sequel to 2018’s excellent web-slinging adventure looks absolutely phenomenal - in the open world, players are able toswitch freely between Peter Parker and Miles Morales, and use their unique abilities to do cool Spidey things around New York. Peter obviously gets his hands on thesymbiotesuit at some point, too, and that looks ridiculously overpowered (but extremely fun). Oh, and the game’sworld is literally twice the size of its predecessor’s. Imagine all the backpacks that could be hidden in that.

Although the sequel is set to release on 20 October, as VGCreports, there have been reports that fans in certain countries in the Middle East (including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) are currently unable to preorderMarvel’s Spider-Man 2at all.

Over on Reddit, some fansreportedthat the game’s release date on thePlayStationStore was simply showing as “to be determined”, with no option to add it to their carts. One userclaimedto have preordered the title before it was “removed” from the store, and stated that they later received a refund for their purchase. What’s more, it seems that the game’s age rating has been removed altogether from local PlayStation website listings.
