Marvel’s Spider-Man 2isn’t even in our hands yet, but that hasn’t stopped Insomniac Games from teasing a potential third instalment in the series.

Several developers sat down with io9 to discuss Peter and Miles’ latest outing, but they also teased what’s in store beyondMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. Director Ben Arfmann was asked about the possibility of a sequel,saying, “I mean, I would love to be able to talk about that. We love this game - are so excited about this game. I’m really hoping that fans love it in the same way that we do. And we’re going to be so lucky to get to tell more stories. [But], for right now, I think what we can talk about is the game that comes out October 20."

Senior writer Lauren Mee added that they hope players will “finish the game and go, ‘Holy shit. I need more of this,’” while director of community and marketing James Stevenson teased a post-credits scene. Arfmann added, “Yeah, it’s definitely a Marvel experience.”
That would fit with what we’ve seen from the franchise so far. In the originalMarvel’s Spider-Man, a post-credits scene revealed that Harry Osborn is actually Venom … something we’re clearly going to see play out now in next month’s sequel. This scene was continued inMiles Moraleswhen we saw Harry waking up. It only seems fitting thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2should begin teasing the next big bad.
