Mass Effect fans have been waiting for news about the next game for what feels like an eternity now. Yes,Mass Effect Legendary Editionsustained us for a while, but it never really sated our need to find out what happened afterAndromeda. Unfortunately, while there’s now a teaser to give us veiled hints,ME5won’t be coming to our PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
N7 Day gave us a very short, albeit intriguing, reveal forME5. It gave us some hints as to itstitle and plot, though nothing concrete save for the answering of a distress signal from Andromeda. Still, it offered us hope, something tangible to dissect with fellow fans. Then the claim thatME5won’t come out until at least 2029 started to engulf the internet like wildfire.
Let’s lighten the mood with a fun character guessing game of Mass Effect’s finest!
On Giant Bomb’s Game Mess Morning segment, Jeff Grubb asked if viewers wanted some “original reporting”, before revealing “This game [ME5] is just nowhere near coming out. I was told that when they revealedDragon Age: Dreadwolfin 2018, this is similar in terms of timeline.” Grubb added, “That was announced in 2018 and we’re not getting that game until maybe next year. So now do the math for that, and we’re talking 2029 for Mass Effect 5.”
