Mass Effect 5’sproject director Michael Gamble recently addressed the game on X,saying: “Lots of people asking me about Mass Effect now that Veilguard reviews are out, and Oct 31 is close. Both are from the studio, but Mass Effect is Mass Effect. How you bring a Sci-Fi RPG to life is different than other genres or IPs…and has to have different kinds of love.”

Fans obviously had more questions, with one asking ifMass Effect 5will adopt the more cartoony artstyle ofDragon Age: The Veilguard.

So there you have it, the next Mass Effect game will continue the series’ trend of taking players to realistic sci-fi worlds.

Unfortunately not much else is known about the game other than that, probably becauseDragon Age: The Veilguardwas the priority title and now the development team can focus fully on Mass Effect.

What we do know is it won’t mess with the various endings ofMass Effect 3, as BioWare has stated several times the choices players make are important and future projectswon’t make any of them canonto respect those choices.

The predicted release date forMass Effect 5, or whatever the game will be called, is sometime in 2027 or 2028.
