Mass Effect 5 trailer still has fans making the same complaint

Do you guys remember whenBioWareand EA released a trailer for “The Next Mass Effect” game almost four whole years ago?

The teaser trailer was intended to be a “sneak peek at the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe”, but in reality, it was a whole lot of nothing. Just some fancy images of planets and stuff.

Well, turns out, there’s probably a good reason the teaser trailer in question was pretty barebones.

“Teasers” aren’t exactly supposed to be chocked full of content and are supposed to function more as a declaration of intent, a message to fans that something will eventually come out somewhere down the line.

Following the release ofDragon Age: The Veilguard, Rolling Stone explained that “BioWare confirms that there are currently no plans for downloadable expansions. The developers’ full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project”

Folks over on the r/masseffect subreddit took this news less than positively, mostly because it implies that the next game is a lot further into the future than the teaser might have implied.

“I can’t wait for it to come out in 2030” commenteduser cochrane210.

“And the teaser trailer was four years ago…”replied BigBootyKim, “Safe to say they announced it far too early.”

But hey, at least it’s not as bad as theThe Elder Scrolls VIteaser. That’s well over six years old at this point, and basically nobody knows when that’s coming out. Man, I’m gonna be in a nursing home before I play either of these…
