Mass Effect 5 update is just what we needed to hear

Mass Effect fans have been silently worrying overMass Effect 5ever sinceAndromedafailed to meet our expectations. For the record, I enjoyed the game, however, most of the fandom did not. Consequently, we’re all now just waiting with bated breath to see what’s become of the franchise.

We’ve already learnt that the nextMass Effectwon’t be open world, a decision that we feel is the right one for the franchise. Although open world adventures are entertaining, they’re not in-keeping with the ME experience, and, as such, aren’t an aspect of play fans are keen for.

To add sugar on the cream of this already glorious news, we’ve received anotherMass Effect 5update that has helped calm our nerves even further – “trilogy veterans” are working on the new game.

Why this matters to the fans so much is because the OG trilogy is regarded as pretty darn exceptional; if the new game mirrors their depth and innovation,BioWarewill be on to another winning title.

Before anyone doubts the legitimacy of these claims, Michael Gamble, BioWare’s project director and executive producer, has confirmed them. In a tweet responding to a doubtful fan, Gamble said, “EP, Art Director, Creative Director, Game Director are all trilogy vets.”

Although we can’t avoid the inevitability thatMass Effect 5will beunplayable for millions, at least we can rest easy knowing that the creatives behind it are deeply familiar with the franchise and its lore. As a longstanding ME fan, I’m beyond relieved to learn this.
