Despite being one of the biggest video franchises of all time, you’d be forgiven if you forgot thatMass Effect 5is on the way.
It’s been nearly four years sinceMass Effect5(not its official name) was announced duringThe Game Awards2020, sending those in attendance and watching at home into a frenzy. However, since that time, other thanteasing a mysterious character, BioWare has not given us any major updates on its development.

To be fair toBioWare, the developer has been hard at work gettingDragon Age: The Veilguardready for release and that time finally arrived on 31 October 2024.

So, now that the development ofDragon Age: The Veilguardis over with (other than post-launch patches), surely it’s time for BioWare to shift its main focus toMass Effect 5, right?
While it may be sad to learn thatDragon Age: The Veilguardisn’t getting an expansion (though I’d never entirely rule that out), what Epler said next will please Mass Effect fans.

“The teaser trailer was four years ago. It’s safe to say BioWare announced it far too early,” said BigBootyKim.

At this time, there’s no telling whenMass Effect 5will be released but it might be safe to expect it to be a next-gen title, just in case.
