Mass Effect fans will be stunned by new release that’s already sold out

A brand newMass Effectrelease just dropped, aaaaand it’s gone. But don’t worry, you probably weren’t going to buy it anyway! Because it cost199 dollars.

Dark Horse Directdropped the Mass Effect: Commander Shepard 1/6 Scale Statue on their website in November last year, and it seems to have sold out at some point this month (although it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact day it went out of stock).

The press release for the statue was also pretty extra: “Wiping the blood of her enemies from her face and primed with her omni-blade, the Commander Shepard Statue draws inspiration from the Mass Effect 3 cover art as well as key concept art from the game.”

This isn’t to be confused with theprevious, even more expensiveCommander Shepard statue that dropped roughly 12 years ago.

That $350 statue was of the default male version of Commander Shepard, whereas the more recent one was of the default female version (or “FemShep” as she’s more colloquially referred to).

It also shouldn’t be confused with the other official statue of female Commander Shepard… you know, the onewhere she was dead.

That statue was actually pulled from sale, and all those who pre-ordered it had their orders refunded.

The official quote regarding that statue being pulled from sale is pretty funny in retrospect though, so enjoy.

“This statue was intended to be part of a series commemorating some of the key and most emotional moments in the series. The way we announced it did not convey that properly, nor does it give the moment in the series the credit it deserves.”

Kind of a shame really, as that other one was certainly a “conversation starter”, as it was referred to in its press release.
