What if you took a sprawling sci-fi RPG likeMass Effectand blended it with the horror aesthetics of a legendary title likeBloodborne?

Exoduscomes from new studio Archetype Entertainment which actually partly consists of ex-BioWare employees, so it’s not a real surprise thatExodusclearly citesMass Effectas a major inspiration.
The game is being created inUnreal Engine5, so boasts dazzling visuals, and will take players to a new dawn of civilisation.
“Having fled a dying Earth, humanity has found a new home in a hostile galaxy,” reads the synopsis.
“Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope.”

Since its announcement, it’s largely been radio silence from studio Archetype, but a brand new trailer has just been dropped.
You can take a look at that trailer below.
It’s a cinematic trailer, so there’s no gameplay for us to fawn over.

Still, it helps us get a feel for the game.
In particular, it grants us a look at some of the horrors that await us in space - and this is where a feeling ofBloodbornedrips in.
A ship appears to float through the galaxy made up of thousands of gnawing faces, seemingly keen to eat anything it or they come across - whether that’s man or machine.

“The Mara-Yama feed on fear, delight in cruelty, and revel in the agony of their prey. They aren’t just hunters - they are sadistic predators who savor every moment of psychological torment they inflict,” reads an official release.
Exodusneeds to show off some in-engine footage to truly secure our interest but I’ve got to say, it’s ticking all of the right boxes so far.
