Mass Effect veteran establishes new studio with ‘AAA action-adventure’ plans

As the lead writer of theMass Effecttrilogy, you have to know what you are doing and that is the case for BioWare veteran Mac Walters who has gone on to establish a brand-new studio complete with “AAA action-adventure” plans.

TheMass Effectfranchise is best known for its excellent narrative and character development and that is in part thanks to the work of Walter himself. Serving as the writer (and later lead writer) of theMass Effecttrilogy, creative director onMass Effect: Andromedaand production director on the upcomingDragon Age: Dreadwolf, he has quite an extensive career. However, theBioWareveteran left the company earlier this year after a 19-year stint and it seems as though he has his eyes set on a new venture.

“The team at NetEase Games shares our vision and passion to utilise leading edge technology to create the best possible new games. Their teams' support and creative freedom affords us the opportunity to deliver on that vision.”

In even more exciting news, the studio’s first project is already in development but with it still being early days, we know nothing about what to expect. All we know is that it is “a near future action adventure game in a breathtaking world filled with mystery and exploration,” which does kind of sum up every video game ever.

Nevertheless, it is exciting news to see a new studio burst on to the scene. Let us hope Walters will bring some of hisMass Effectcharm to the fray.
