
At long last, Remedy has announced that the upcoming Max Payne remakes are entering their next stage of development.

“We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success,” Remedy explained.

TheMax Payne 1&2remakeswill be heading toPC,PlayStation 5andXboxSeries X/S and will be developed using Remedy’s Northlight game engine, the same engine used to makeControland the more recentAlan Wake 2.As you can probably expect, it will be a huge improvement to the titles that were originally released in the early 2000s.
For fans ofControl,Remedy also issued an announcement about the upcoming sequel. However, we will be waiting a bit longer for that one as it is still in the proof-of-content stage. “The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build,” Remedy wrote. “We will continue at this stage for the next few quarters. We focus on proving the identified key elements before moving to the next stage and scaling up the team.”
Last but not least, there was also news on the studio’s upcoming four-player co-op spin-off of Control titledCondor.Also in its proof-of-content stage, Remedy claims the studio is in “a better position to create a game players can engage with for years” after acquiring “valuable insights into developing service-based games”.
