Unfortunately, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the project so far, as it’s been enduring what can only be described as production hell. The script has been written, torn up, and rewritten several times, with Kevin Feige himself reportedly showing frustration with its progress.

Luckily there is some good news, as the director Yann Demange has confirmed that the push to make the film R-rated has been successful.
It only makes sense too, as Blade is best known for slicing up and gunning down some of the worst supernatural threats to plague the Marvel universe, so to have him in a PG-13 role just wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
Sadly, that’s the best update we’ve had for the film so far as it’s still unclear how far into production the film actually is, nor do we have confirmed date for when we’ll see the slayer return to the big screen.
