Minecraft Xbox update could erase your worlds, players are warned

With theMinecraft1.21 update fast approaching, developers Mojang have warned PC Xbox app users of a potential issue that could see their worlds get erased.

Players who use thePCXbox app to runMinecraftmay be in danger of seeing their worlds and saves get deleted when the new 1.21 update arrives if they do not follow a specific set of instructions when updating. With the latest patch seeing a handful of fixes including a health increase for Wolves, these are all in preparation for 1.21.

Alongside these small fixes,Minecraft1.21will also offer Wolf armour courtesy of the new Armadillo mob as well as the introduction of Trial Chambers, new additions to the crafting kit, more mob variants and even a brand-new weapon: the mace. These new features will arrive with 1.21 sometime later this year.

Doing this should protect your worlds and allow you to update the game without issue.

The update will also be required for those who wish to access multiplayer and featured servers. Although it is currently unclear what is causing this issue, Mojang is reportedly hard at work on fixing it before 1.21 arrives. Luckily, it only affects Xbox app users as of now.

With players putting hundreds of hours into their worlds, being aware of this issue could prevent a whole lot of heartache. Hopefully, it will be resolved in time for the next big content patch.
