Netflix confirms return of presumed dead Stranger Things character in Season 5

Netflix has been tight-lipped on the details ofStranger Thingsseason five, but one star might have just told us they’re back from the dead.

We haven’t had a lot of info fromStranger Thingsseason five beyond a few small teases.

In aninterview with Vulture, Matthew Modine is giving the idea that his character of ‘Papa’ isn’t actually deceased.

“I wouldn’t want him to be dead,” said Modine.

He went on to lay out several points that has us thinking he’s coming back for the final season, and not just in flashbacks.

The star lays it out, “Three things are curious to me: How did he [Brenner] survive the Demogorgon? How did he survive One?”

He already has a point, and I’m hooked into his thinking.

Modine continues, “And when Eleven tries to use her power against Dr. Brenner after blowing three guards in the air, he unflinchingly thwarts her and says, ‘You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you?’”

He’s hinting that Papa, also known as Dr. Martin Brenner, had more going on behind the scenes.

Dropping so many big hints, I’m surprisedNetflixhasn’t put out a cease and desist.

Modine says, “She couldn’t get it to work on him. Is there something more to Brenner than meets the eye?”

It would make a lot of sense for Papa to be another force for Eleven and the gang to deal with.

Perhaps he has a much deeper connection to Creel via his own psychic powers, which would bring in another element to the end of Hawkins and possibly the world.

No matter how this shakes out, it’s going to mean more emotional moments for Eleven as she confronts Papa and the pain he caused.

It’s going to be great to see Modine back for the show as he gives a terrific performance and if he’s leaning deeper into the evil side of the character, we’re going to have a lot of fun.
