New Batman trilogy quietly confirmed, will adapt wild classic story

It seems we’re going to be getting a trilogy of movies that will adapt one of the greatestBatmancomic book arcs of all time, based on information obtained from an extremely credible leak.

Now, I’m not quite sure where they’re getting the “trilogy” part from as I couldn’t find a source for that online, but I can confirm that the adaptation will at least be a two-parter.

That’s becausethe source of the leakitself, the Entertainment Identifier Registry, states that the upcoming project is titled “Batman: Knightfall: Part 1”.

So first things first, how legit is this leak? Well considering its source, it’s almost definitely 100% true.

That’s because the Entertainment Identifier Registry pulls its metadata directly from physical and digital media, such as CDs and DVDs.

In short,Batman: Knightfall: Part 1already exists. If it didn’t, the EIDR wouldn’t have been able to get ahold of its metadata in the first place.

As far as the comic book arc that is being adapted goes, it’s an absolute banger and one of my personal favourites.

Knightfallfollows Batman as he fights against almost every member of his rogues gallery, following a prison break at Arkham Asylum - until he finally has to face the newly-introduced Bane, the man who orchestrated the prison break in an attempt to wear Batman down.

Part of the storyline was actually adapted in the 2012 Christopher Nolan-directed filmThe Dark Knight Rises, although in the loosest possible sense.

If you don’t know anything else about theKnightfallarc beyond this, keep it that way until you can watchBatman: Knightfall: Part 1for yourself. If it’s even a semi-faithful adaptation, the film will be more than worth the wait.
