While it won’tequal the power ofMicrosoftandSony’scurrent consoles, it will be a vast improvement over the Nintendo Switch, and it’s believed some game developers have already seen the console in action, following a secret first-look during Gamescom.
Now new details about the console’s design, capabilities and even a potential name have appeared online, courtesy of a Korean leaker whoclaimsto have inside knowledge of the unannounced console.
Apparently, its pseudonym name is the Nintendo Super Play, likely paying homage to some of the company’s retro consoles. This extends to its presumed design, as it’s stated the button layout will be similar to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System controller, including the colours of the buttons.
It’ll also read normal Nintendo Switch game cartridges, which supports previous claims that Nintendo plans to sell two versions of the new console, one supporting physical games, and one that’s entirely digital.

Interestingly, it’s said Nintendo’s next console will be similar to the Nintendo Switch, in the sense it can be used at home connected to a TV, and on the go, but won’t include a dock to place the console into.
This raises several questions, mainly because it’s unclear how the console could be connected/disconnected from TVs without the use of a dock.
Some believe an announcement could be featured as part of this December’s Game Awards.
