As for its plot, it’ll follow the story of ‘Dunk and Egg’, otherwise known as Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon V Targaryen, with the first HBO season set to explain how these companions came together.

It’s time to return to theHouse of The Dragonwith its official trailer!

In total, three novellas focus on these characters, with George R.R. Martin (who is working withHBOon the project) hopeful that HBO will follow the story through to the end. However, only one season has been given the go-ahead. Exciting though this is, GoT fans are still harbouring disappointment over thelack of a video game adaptation. Granted, the epic narrative of the books and TV series do lend themselves to the RPG genre, however, with titles likeThe WitcherandThe Elder Scrollsalready dominating in that department, it’s doubtful a AAA GoT game will ever be made.

But that is a problem for another day, as, in the words of Martin himself, “Today, we’re celebrating. Dunk & Egg are coming.”
