Next Battlefield will be ‘tremendous live service game’, which is apparently a good thing

Normally when we see the words “live service game”, we start to worry.

But apparently in this instance, such a feature is exactly what the franchise needs.

News that the nextBattlefieldtitle will be the“largest in franchise history”has whet fans’ appetites, and as such they’re now hurrying to learn more.

According to Geoff Keighley,EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, has been playing the new game and has described it as “tremendous live service”.

“I already know I don’t want to play this game, ty Andrew!” joked Twitter user @HiddenXperia upon reading the tweet.

Another user, this time BigFryTV, said, “It’s very telling that he never said ‘This is going to be a good game’. LOL, Jesus Christ.”

“Is this a threat?” wasasked, which tells you everything you need to know about how well received the new Battlefield will be if live service is a key feature.

The amount of doubt fans have is palpable, which is likely not the responses Keighley or Wilson wanted.

But is it really a surprise fans aren’t feeling it?

Battlefield 2042has beenkilled off after its underwhelming run, with fans criticising the action title for being “bare bones”.

Hopefully, EA will rethink this move, but it seems unlikely. So much so that some fans are joking that AI now runs EA. That’s how much faith the fandom has in the publisher.

“So they [EA] didn’t learn a f**king thing,” commented a Redditor. “Got it.”
