WhileNintendoisn’t known for giving fans the announcements they want, it’s not normally this mysterious either.
When fans kept claiming theNintendo Switch2 was going to be revealed, Nintendo shut that down without much hesitation.

Even though the post links to an information page about the play test, what the test involves isn’t mentioned at all.
It’s all very cloak and dagger.

“This is interesting. I’m looking forward to something new!”remarkedanother.

As you’d expect, some have even got their hopes up that this is related to the Switch 2 somehow.
We’d love that to be the case, but other than our blind optimism, there’s nothing here that suggests the unknown feature is related to the new hardware.
It could well be a feature we’ll see on the Switch 2, but that doesn’t mean it’s exclusive to it in any way.

Most users are fine with it being for the current console, so long as it’s something to do with the arrival of achievements.
They might be meaningless in reality, but we love it when a notification tells us about an achievement/trophy we’ve just unlocked.
Whatever this surprise feature is, it’s been better received than Nintendo’s latesthardware reveal.
