Yesterday Nintendo announced the definitive edition of a Wii U banger, on a random weekday with no prior warning.
I’m both impressed and fearful ofNintendo’sability to pull surprises out of thin air, though yesterday the sheer excitement of seeingXenoblade Chronicles Xcoming to the Nintendo Switch overshadowed all other emotions.
It’s also worth trying out the firstXenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, the trailer of which is below
Xenoblade Chronicles Xis theWii Uspin-off game of the increasingly popular Xenoblade Chronicles series, which is such a heavy-hitter on Nintendo’s consoles some of its characters found their way intoSuper Smash Bros, which is how you know they’re good.

That said, that’s entirely the reason you do a definitive version of something, to inspire a new audience whilst also appealing to those who were there when it first came out. I mean look at the successDead Rising Deluxe Remasterhad after the series’ long hiatus?
Aside from thetrailerfor the game Nintendo also announced it’ll launch on 20 March 2025, adding to the already impressive line-up of 2025 games for the Nintendo Switch.
Whether the game will also be available on theNintendo Switch 2is unknown, but hopefully it is because I’d love to see the game take advantage of more modern hardware, as the original version looked fantastic on the Wii U let alone a new-gen platform.

For those who haven’t played a Xenoblade Chronicles game yet,Xenoblade Chronicles Xis a perfectly fine game to start with, as again it has nothing to do with the main story of the series, so it’s a place to start if you’re looking for one.
