For those curious as to whyPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Teamis seeing a release on the Nintendo Switch butPokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Teamis not, Blue Rescue Team was a Nintendo DS title. A few DS titles have seen release on the Switch however, so there’s a good chance we might see it on there someday.
Although the titles received relatively mixed receptions when they first released, they certainly sold well and have since amassed a loyal following.
The series has also had multiple entries over the years, the latest of which (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX) released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch back in 2020.
Potentially unbeknownst to some, the Mystery Dungeon series didn’t actually start with Pokémon.Torneko’s Great Adventurewas the first entry in the series in 1993, and it’s seen multiple different spin-off titles such asEtrian Mystery Dungeonin 2015 andFinal Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeonin 2007.

The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games see you taking on the role of an actual Pokémon (well, a human who has been turned into a Pokémon anyway), as you progress through dungeons and recruit several different Pokémon along the way to add to your party.
